Here are some tips for promoting a product effectively on a blog:

1.

Know Your Audience 

If you are selling a weight loss program then put yourself in his or her shoes.

Consider the kind of information he or she will be searching for and what kind of content will keep him or her reading? 

Start with your reader in mind before you start adding content to you site.  Your goal is to have the reader land on your blog keep him or here there.   This simple step will do your reader a huge favor and make YOU more money!

Use articles

It can be rough to come up with new and interesting content for your readers on a continual basis. My huge article database can come in handy for added content. You'll find articles on training, nutrition, supplementation, etc. for all your male and female readers, and I'm always adding to it.

 

3.

Use Your Blog To Promote only ONE Product/Niche 

Do not try to sell something to everyone that may come to your blog.  You do not want your visitors to feel you they have visited a car dealership and feel pressed for a sale with every click of a link.  You will lose credibility and ultimately a potential sale. 

Also, don't give product recommendations left and right or your visitors will begin to see your blog for what it is; to earn money. When you give your visitors too many decisions it leads to visitor confusion and no sales.

Choose ONE product to stand by, specific to your target audience, and you will send a strong signal of confidence and trust to your visitor.

Keep a small and tight product niche .If you want to promote multiple niches, then it would be wise having separate blogs for each niche. 

 

4.

Genuine Recommendations and Personal Endorsements Work Wonders

The best results affiliates receive are giving open and honest reviews of the product – including both strengths and weaknesses. 

Your blog readers come back to your site each day because something resonates with them – they have some sort of trust and respect for your opinion and will take your recommendations very seriously.

Give away free downloadable reports and other gifts

Treat your visitors well and they will continue to coming back to your blog.

Offer your visitors my free PDF reports and sample chapters as a way of keeping your blog visitors interested.

 

6.

Consider Where You Place Your Images, Book Covers, and Ads

The secret to placing your banners, book covers or images on blogs is to position them within the context of specific content.

For example, do not put my book cover right at the top of your blog.  This will scream "advertisement" and might induce a click but there has been no "pre-sell" so the quality of click will be low.

Instead, let's say you post an article on weight training.  The perfect place to put my women's bodybuilding e-book cover would be at the end of the article. This, too, gives it a perceived value.
